The Family Behind Two Step Moving Company

Will Tejeda started Two Step Moving in December 2023, after more than fifteen years moving other people’s furniture for somebody else. We are family-owned, licensed and insured, and we serve San Antonio and the surrounding Hill Country.

No call centre, no subcontracted crew, no estimate that changes on move day. The people who quote your move are the people who show up to do it.

Our story

How Two Step Moving started

Will Tejeda spent more than fifteen years moving other people’s furniture before any of it was his. Long enough to learn what a good move looks like, and long enough to get tired of watching crews he did not control do it badly. In December 2023 he put his own name on a truck in San Antonio.

The name is a Texas joke that turned out to be the business plan. A two-step is a simple dance — but you have to know it, and you have to do it with somebody else. A move works the same way. Show up, and protect what you own. Everything else is detail.

Since then the crew has grown, and the work has widened: full household moves, apartments, offices, packing, specialty pieces, and labour-only jobs for people who already have the truck. What has not changed is who answers the phone.

Today we move homes, apartments, offices and specialty items across San Antonio and out to Boerne, New Braunfels, Seguin, Cibolo, Bulverde and the rest of the Hill Country — and anywhere else in Texas a customer needs to get to.

Our own crew on a San Antonio job — employees, not day labour.

“You won’t find better service. That is not a slogan — it is the standard I hold my own crew to, on every job, including yours.”

If something goes wrong on your move, call me. My name is on this company and my sons will inherit it. That is a stronger guarantee than anything I could print on a truck.

Our values

Three things we do not negotiate on

Most moving companies write “quality and integrity” here. Here is what we actually believe, in our own words.

01 · Excellence

Doing all things well

We seek to do all things well, to the glory of the Triune God. Yes, we are serving you, our customer — but our Christian faith teaches us that as we serve others we are ultimately serving our Lord Jesus Christ. That is why the standard does not slip when nobody is watching.

02 · Resolve

Every job has thorns and thistles

We know that every job this side of glory has thorns and thistles, and we will not let challenges get in our way. A third-floor apartment with no elevator. Rain on move day. A stairwell nothing should fit through. You get our unwavering resolve to finish the job either way.

03 · Legacy

A business built to hand down

With four growing young men at home, we intend Two Step Moving to be a family business. Making a generational impact means being around for a long time — which is exactly why we work to give you the very best experience we possibly can, every single move.

How we work

What you get when you book Two Step Moving

A quote before move day, honoured after

You get a flat, itemised written estimate before anything is loaded — crew, truck and standard protection materials included. No hourly surprises, no hidden fees, no renegotiating on the driveway.

Our own trained crew, not day labour

The movers who arrive are our employees, trained on wrapping, stair carries, tight hallways and specialty pieces. We do not subcontract your move to whoever is free that morning.

Your property treated like ours

Anything soft or finished gets padded and shrink-wrapped before it leaves the room. Doorways, banisters and floors are protected at both ends — the house you are leaving as much as the one you are moving into.

Supplies and tools already on the truck

Pads, shrink wrap, straps, dollies, tool kits and wardrobe boxes come with the crew. If you need boxes and packing materials ahead of move day, we can supply those too.

Full-service moves anywhere in Texas

Local moves across San Antonio, and intrastate moves to Austin, Houston, Dallas and everywhere between under our TxDMV intrastate authority. One crew, one truck, one point of contact.

Packing handled, if you want it

We will pack the whole house, just the kitchen and the breakables, or nothing at all if you would rather do it yourself. Already have a truck, trailer, POD or storage container? We will load it.

In our customers’ words

201 reviews. 5.0. Not one of them older than the company.

We opened in December 2023, so there is no decade-old goodwill propping up that average. Every review below was earned by a crew that showed up this year or last.

★★★★★

Great moving company. The two guys who moved my elderly friend were very professional and carful with her things. They were friendly and treated my elderly friend which much respect. Bernard and Chase did an awesome job! The owner Will was great at communicating with us. Highly recommend Two step moving.

I highly recommend Two Step Moving Co. Our movers Bernard and Zach were awesome! They were professional and efficient, they got everything packed and moved carefully and quickly from a third floor apartment. We will definitely use them again for any future moves!

Got a fair and reasonable quote from Two Step Moving Company to move a heavy washer. The team did a fantastic job handling the heavy appliance with care. Professional, efficient, and great pricing. Will be calling again for my next move—highly recommend!

Where we work

San Antonio and the surrounding Hill Country

We are based in San Antonio and cover the towns around it every week. Intrastate moves reach the rest of Texas under our TxDMV authority.

The Hill Country towns north and west of the city — Boerne, Bulverde, Canyon Lake, Blanco and Wimberley — bring their own quirks: long gravel driveways, gated communities and hill roads a big truck has to be driven carefully on. Two Step Moving works these routes often enough to plan for them rather than discover them on the day.

East and north-east, New Braunfels, Seguin, Cibolo and Schertz are a steady run for us, and a lot of that work is military families moving in or out around JBSA-Randolph, where dates move and flexibility matters. South and south-east, La Vernia, Floresville and Stockdale are smaller towns where Two Step Moving is often the only crew a family sees all week, so the job gets done properly or word gets around.

If your town is not on the list, it is still worth a call. Two Step Moving takes jobs across the region, and the only way to know whether a date and a distance work is to ask.

Move day

What a move with Two Step Moving actually looks like

Six steps, start to finish. No part of this is a surprise on the morning — which is the whole point of booking a moving company rather than borrowing a truck.

1. You ask for a quote

Call us or send the form. We ask what you are moving, where it is going, and what the access looks like at both ends — stairs, lifts, parking, long carries. Those three things shape a move day more than anything else, which is why Two Step Moving asks about them first.

2. You get a written number

We put the estimate in writing and itemise it, so you can see what the crew, the truck and the protection materials each account for. You are not guessing, and you are not comparing a flat number against somebody else’s hourly rate with the clock hidden.

3. We confirm before the day

6. You hear from us afterwards

The quote you agreed is the invoice you get. If anything is not right, the owner’s email is on this page and Will Tejeda answers it himself — which is the part of Two Step Moving that a bigger company genuinely cannot copy.

Before you book

Questions people ask about us

Yes. We hold USDOT number 4332000 and TxDMV number 010049340C, and we carry insurance on every move. You can check both yourself — look us up in the FMCSA company snapshot before you book us or anyone else.

Will Tejeda founded Two Step Moving Company in San Antonio in December 2023. The company is young; the hands doing the work are not — Will spent more than fifteen years moving furniture for other companies before he started this one, and all 201 of our Google reviews have been earned since December 2023.

Our own crew. We do not subcontract moves out to third-party labour, and we do not hire day labour for the morning. The people who arrive at your door work for Two Step Moving and are trained by us.

Yes — owned and run by Will Tejeda, with four sons we intend to hand the business to. That is why we care what your move looks like: a family business only lasts if the work holds up.

San Antonio and the surrounding Hill Country — Boerne, New Braunfels, Cibolo, Schertz, Bulverde, Seguin, La Vernia, Canyon Lake, Floresville, Wimberley, Blanco and Stockdale — plus intrastate moves anywhere in Texas.

Call (210) 405-2499 or use the free quote form. We confirm the details by phone or text, then send a flat, itemised written estimate before move day — and we hold to it.

You get a flat, itemised written estimate before move day, not an hourly meter running while you watch. Two Step Moving prices the job from the size of the move, the access at both ends and how much of the packing you want us to handle. The number we give you is the number we hold to — no hidden fees and no renegotiating in the driveway.

Yes. Labour-only moving is one of our services. If you have already rented a truck, booked a POD or hired a trailer, Two Step Moving will send the crew, the pads, the straps and the dollies and load it properly. Plenty of people use us this way for a partial move, a storage run or a job where they only need the heavy lifting handled.

Yes — specialty moving is a service we run, not an afterthought. Pianos, gun safes, oversized furniture, treadmills and awkward one-off pieces get handled by crew who have moved them before and who bring the right equipment for it. Tell us what the item is when you book so Two Step Moving sends the right people and gear.

We do. Commercial moving sits alongside our residential work, and Two Step Moving moves offices, shops and business premises around San Antonio. Workstations, filing, IT equipment and furniture are wrapped and moved the same way a household is. Tell us your access windows and building rules and we will plan the job around them.

Yes. Two Step Moving holds Texas intrastate authority under TxDMV 010049340C, so we are not limited to local moves. Austin, Houston, Dallas, the Valley or anywhere else in the state is a job we can take, with the same crew loading and unloading rather than a handoff to a stranger at the other end.

Yes. Pads, shrink wrap, straps, dollies and wardrobe boxes travel with the crew as standard. If you want boxes and packing materials delivered ahead of move day so you can start early, Two Step Moving can supply those too — ask when you book and we will work out what you need.

Two Step Moving is licensed and insured on every move, and you can verify both numbers yourself before you book anyone. If something does go wrong, you are not chasing a call centre: the owner’s name and email are on this page. Will Tejeda would rather hear about a problem directly than read about it in a review.

Three things, and all three are checkable. The crew are our own employees rather than day labour hired that morning. The quote is written down before move day and honoured after it. And the company is owned by a named person with four sons he intends to hand it to — which is a longer horizon than most movers are working on.

Three things help more than anything else. Clear a path from the front door to the truck, because that is where the time goes. Set aside the box of things you want to keep with you — documents, medication, chargers, the kettle — so it does not end up at the bottom of a load. And tell us about stairs, lift bookings and parking restrictions when you book rather than on the morning. Beyond that, Two Step Moving would rather you left the heavy work to the crew.

Yes, where a piece has to come apart to get through a door or down a stairwell. Bed frames, table legs and modular units are dismantled, the fixings are bagged and labelled, and the crew reassembles them at the other end before they leave. It is part of a full-service move with Two Step Moving, not a separate charge you find out about later.

Move with a crew you can name

Tell us the date and the size of the job. You will get a clear written quote before move day — and the same crew who quoted it.
